1Accepting these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Echo mobile application and this website (together, “Echo”), operated by Echo. By creating an account or using Echo, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Echo.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Echo, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you use Echo on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2Your account
You can sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account, and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure.
Tell us at support@echo.plus if you believe someone else has used your account.
3Subscriptions and billing
Echo offers paid memberships purchased through the Apple App Store. Current prices, billing periods, and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy and on the App Store listing. Payment is taken by Apple, not by us.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trials. Where a trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. We cannot issue them directly.
We may change prices or plan features. Changes apply from your next billing period, never retroactively.
4Fair use and limits
Echo applies usage limits to prevent spam and abuse. Most people will never encounter them during normal use. If you consistently need substantially more capacity, we may offer an optional upgrade. We may also apply temporary limits to protect the service.
5Acceptable use
You agree not to use Echo to:
- Break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights.
- Create or share content that sexualises minors, incites violence, or harasses a specific person.
- Generate images of real people intended to deceive, defame, or impersonate them.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer Echo, defeat its limits, or resell access to the underlying model providers.
- Upload content you do not have the rights to, including other people’s photographs and confidential documents.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, with notice where practical.
6AI output and its limits
Echo routes your requests to third-party AI models. Their output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, even when it is stated with confidence. Verify anything you plan to rely on.
Echo is not a substitute for professional advice. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Where Echo identifies an object, summarises a document, or surfaces places nearby, treat the result as a starting point rather than an authority.
7Your content and generated output
You keep ownership of the prompts, photos, and documents you provide. You grant us the licence needed to operate Echo — processing your content, sending it to model providers to produce a response, and storing it in your history where applicable.
As between you and us, you own the images, sticker packs, and text Echo generates for you, to the extent such output can be owned. Similar or identical output may be generated for other people. Your use of generated content remains subject to the acceptable use section above and to the model providers’ own terms.
8Third-party services
Echo works with AI models and services operated by other companies, and may surface links to third-party websites. Their names and marks belong to them; Echo is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. We are not responsible for third-party content or services, and the models available in Echo may change over time.
9Suspension and termination
You may stop using Echo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if continuing would create risk for other people. If we terminate your account without cause while you hold a paid subscription, you may be eligible for a pro-rata refund through Apple.
10Disclaimers and liability
Echo is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of Echo is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Echo changes. If a change is material we will give reasonable notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Echo after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
12Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
